Edmonton, Canada

The travelers are continuing to approach their first destination in Alaska. On the way, they stopped at Elk Park near Edmonton. I'll add the picture when I can re-size it!
Here is the message from Gary:
"We are in Ft. Saint John's, B.C., in a campground on Charley Lake. The weather has been beautiful after the midnight hail storm in Ross, North Dakota. We spent three nights in Edmonton because the wheelchair carrier on the camper broke (luckily we noticed it before the electric wheelchair fell off). We arrived Sunday night but Monday was a national holiday so we had to wait until Tuesday to get it fixed. Since we had plenty of time to get to Skagway, we weren't too upset. We were amazed to discover that Edmonton is a fast growing, booming city. Monday we spent much of the day at Fort Edmonton Park, a living museum with three time periods represented...outstanding! Late in the afternoon we went to Elk Island Park where there are herds of elk and buffalo. We saw lots of buffalo, some along the road, but no elk. It was a beautiful way to spend the forced layover. Have visited with some lovely and interesting people along the way. One of our neighbors tonight is from North Carolina and is riding his motorcycle all the way to Alaska. Tomorrow we plan to stop at Toad River campground about 500 Km (300 miles) up the road.
